Travelling party: Couple
Stayed here for four nights this summer (2014).
Very peaceful, good location, good hedged pitches with shade, good pegging for tent. Toilet and showers are basic but kept very clean. Good showers with plenty of hot water (free). Site attendant visits twice a day, so pitch up and pay later. Citadel is five min. walk from campsite;very interesting and impressive. Would stay here again, if in the area.

Travelling party: Seniors
Easy access from the D643/E44 from the North, if travelling from the South, stay on D643/E44 through town and after steep hill left turn at top before sharp right. Good sized hedged pitches with 5 Amp or 10 Amp electric points. We arrived in the afternoon and pitched ourselves, plenty of choice as only a few caravans and tents using the site. We found the electric had tripped during the night after a delapitated french campervan hooked up to the same bollard as us, warden reset trip when I told her in the morning. Warden called morning and evening. Toilets and showers were adequate and clean. We walked into town for a drink and it was quite steep downward, steeper coming back. Good overnighter, which I have used before and will again when in the area needing a convenient stop.
